The Plague Dogs - The Most Depressing Animated Movie Ever Related Videos

I think there was a determined effort to make movies (animated movies, attractive to children) that were bleakly, profoundly depressing. To what end I cant guess but I've seen so many of them, they often used to be tv filler on a saturday afternoon or just after school.
I cant put names on most of them, I was too young, but "when the wind blows" is a great example. They showed it just when the kids were coming home from school at the height of the cold war. We now know just how close war was in the 80's, and to a child it was horrifying seeing grandma and grandpa dying of rad sickness. Now thats what I call entertainment!
As for all the other movies about the animals dying or going extinct, shit I'll stop thinking about it

It's also really well done, you just might not want to watch it alone. But not with a first date either.
I believe animation is the more liberating of motion arts. But its shackled in the kindergarten.
