This is not your run of the mill live performances. It may be the best performance by Gabriel ever captured on film. Ive included six clips from the tour. His daughter Melanie also performs with him on this tour.

Growing Up Live captures the show over two days at the Filaforum in Milan. Directed by Grammy nominated and BRIT Award winning Hamish Hamilton, the show was shot in high definition in state of the art 5.1 surround sound. Twenty six cameras were used to capture the show, which once again brought together Peter and leading theatrical director Robert Le Page who also collaborated together on the ground breaking 'Secret World Tour' in 1993.

I have, no exaggeration, seen or worked on pretty much every major tour in the past 10 years. People are always asking me what the best show I've ever seen is... the easy answer is Peter Gabriel "Growing Up Live" tour, 2004/2005.

This is pretty amazing, and I hate to nitpick, but if it was recorded in hi-def then it may be the best performance captured on VIDEO, not film.

A friend of mine sent me this a while ago on DVD. It's still my favorite live DVD in my collection. Really wish he would have done Big Time though. Still it's an awesome show. Specially if you've had a toke or two before watching it.
