Stumble ThisThe next wave of humanoid robot is here. REEM-B was just revealed this month (April 2008). He has the longest lasting battery: up to 2 hours of autonomous activity. He can walk at a 1.5 km/h clip and also traverse stairs. It has a stunning face tracking and recognition software system, and it can interact with common objects in front of it (such as pour itself a drink).

The only real difference, is that in the matrix the robots rebel against their creators and start to try to co-exist with them, and be diplomatic..until humans screw themselves over by blotting out the sky, making the machines have to find a new renewable source of energy.
Whereas iRobot has the 3 laws of robotics programmed into them, and finally the main A.I. with access to the robots takes law 1 "# A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm." into the context that human beings are a harm unto themselves, and therefore can no longer live life as they would because humans cause harm to themselves, and others. ect.
