I've been watching the development of this project for a while now, not only am I impressed by the intent of the project, but also all the ingenious design features they have come up with.
Also, the official site is here.
One of the great ideas they've been kicking around for a while is "Buy one, sponsor two", as in, sell the laptop at $300 per to people in the US. The extra $200 would go to buying two laptops, which wouuld be given to the children.
Yup, sign me up for that one. these are cool, and would make a great gift for kids here in the filthy rich world as well.
What's it like being "filthy rich"? I can only wonder.
Read a bit about africa next time you're stuffing your fat ass. Might give you some insight.
Can't wait for the follow-up project "One set of glasses per child" after they've been staring at the tiny display for a while...
