lucky760says...I don't get it. The electronic voting machines we use around here actually print your selections onto paper then asks you to verify what's on the paper is correct. Then that paper is what is tabulated later.
Why do they feel the need to use machines where votes are saved digitally and can be easily tampered with?

davidrainesays...This report is a bit underwhelming. A while back (around 2005-'06, if memory serves), Diebold flooded several parts of the country with voting machines that technology experts knew to be seriously flawed. They went on to declare black is white in stating that their equipment was completely safe when it was disgustingly easy to hack and was very poorly designed, and threw large sums at money at lawsuits blocking any attempt to get a look at the source code or provide any independent review.
Eventually people started to catch on and the public started to distrust Diebold, but all they had to do was change their name to Premier Election Solutions and lay low for a bit. Now they're up to the same tricks again, selling bad technology to politicians who could not care less about the underlying technical details. Here in this video we see that two million dollars of taxpayer money has been wasted on proving something that has been widely realized for years. There has got to be a better way of getting the message out.
charliemsays..."Yes and thanks for that report, there's nothing more embarrassing than a flawed election"
Mmm..yes...quite, ho ho, har har, how embarrassing.
No bitch thats called a fucking dictatorship. Thats not embarrassing, thats criminal in a democratic society. Keep your silly bullshit banter to a minimum when high-crimes are the topic of your stories.
