I'm sure there were better candidates, and if this award was following some actual achievement he has made, I'd be 100% behind it. But as it is now, giving an award for potential is very lame.
What are you even talking about Pennypacker? You can't possibly be saying that George W. Bush deserved a Nobel Peace Prize. If you think they're giving it to anyone besides Bush, well then I think you imagine the list of winners to be a lot longer than it is.

You misunderstand completely. I'm saying that the only reason Obama got nominated is because he "isn't Bush". The NPPC has ceased even pretending to give out thier award for any reason except left-wing political activism. The award wasn't given to Obama because of any accomplishment. Nor was it even given for any of his political stances necessarily. It was only given him because he was a left-leaning President elected after George W. Bush left office.
