I found the vid, and the blog links here

I read a number of the blogs in attempt to understand the claim, but they just seem to make vague references to Carter, without any specific arguments about why this sort of anti-militaristic policy is a bad idea.

Oh for the love of humanity, "It's gonna be great"? Just how many presidents have you lived through that were "great"? /\ well there ya go. Some people are still so afraid of a world where the US doesn't have the power to destroy everything one hundred times over that they won't recognize the only way to be free of nuclear fear, even when its staring them in the face.

So what would you suggest? Do you trust the Russians? The Ukranians? Pakistan? China? How about some up-and-comers, like Iran and North Korea? The same equipment that can enrich it to 10% U235 for powerplants can enrich it to 90% for bombs.

Not even a global police state could implement that policy. Missile defense is better.
