This was one of the better points made by Obama I thought. McCain looks to be squirming in his suit.
McCain: 0
Lehrer: 1
Example: "Russia. Two minutes."
Excuse me? I thought the moderator was supposed to ask questions about issues, not name broad topics/FUCKING COUNTRIES. Come on dude, do your fucking job.
Also, McCain dodges way more questions than Obama did.
This debate had some totally bullshit "questions."

I rather liked that format. It encourages the two candidates to have a conversation with each other, rather than trying to nitpick the candidates a la the late Tim Russert.
I'd rather have these guys argue between each other about policy, than have a moderator who thought his mission was to get one of these guys to hang themselves.
Oh, it's definitely better to have a moderator hold back and not get involved in trying to fuck either candidate over, but a more specific question would make it harder for McCain to go off on random-ass tangents (not that it stopped him at all, but I guess it makes it more obvious when he does).
The other thing is that it would have been good for him to try to enforce a debate-styled atmosphere. I have huge respect for how when McCain interrupted and started talking over Obama, rather than turning it into a shitfest of fighting to speak, Obama let him finish what he was saying. However, had the moderator been doing his job, McCain wouldn't have been allowed to simply run rough-shod right over the top of what Obama was saying.
Barack Hussein Obama stutters more than my 1992 Ford Escort
...you drive a 1992 Ford Escort?
And in the end Obama got him good there. Originally McCain made some huge misjudgments on the war. Just because the surge 'worked' in the loosest sense of the word, doesn't mean McCain's every decision will meet with such supposed success.
I'd imagine during that part, it was awfully difficult for McCain to keep that smug smirk on his face. I don't know which adviser told him to keep a smug smile on his face during everything but it came off very... very elitist.
