Being Canadian, I am still interested in the political process of America, and have been following this election as best as I can, and I honestly hope that Obama is voted in, he seems to be precisely what is needed. I'm also disappointed that Ron Paul wasn't gigen more coverage, and had a better chance, for even though he was Republican he has quite the excellent heado on his shoulders.

And, Farhad, Calvados, I wonder the same thing as well.

I'd vote for the guy if he had more then.. zero foreign policy experience. When he talks about some of his ideas for things like Iraq, they are very often naive and short sighted.

However, I think he'll make a great vice president with enough power to get some great work done.

OK, being an Australian I again, am distanced from all this, but the more I see, the more I like what I see of Obama, and what he says here about removing the influence of the huge lobbies and HMOs etc. IS what is needed in the States. Oh, man I hope he gets in now, I think he really, hopefully has what it takes.

And Quantummushroom... why say that Clinton was a felon (which he is IS NOT), while ignoring that your f*cking poster child in Bush, the man who you voted in with no understanding of how amazingly un credentialed he was for office... has a past of substance abuse, both legal and illegal, and has a DUI on his record.

Come on, stop flinging shit when the ones you so dearly love with your humongously right wing mind are already mired deeply in it.

He's miles ahead of the rest, but still a bit too conservative on some issues. But it'll probably be another 40 years before a president has the balls to try to undo what the Red Scare did to the currency and the pledge of allegiance.

Laws that require public displays of religiosity, such as saying oaths ending with "so help me god", should be repealed.

Yes! He's put into words what I've been missing for some time. The government is created by the people, and needs to answer to the people. Maybe "bottom-up democracy" isn't a very sexy term, but he gets what is missing in Washington.

His appeal with most of the 20-somethings seems to be his articulation and command of the English language and semantics, and his youthful and energetic appearance...and his skin color, all a welcome change of course, from the otolaryngologically-challenged, lying, elitist good-ol-boy of the past 8 years...

other than that, same old same old...
Harvard Law Grad, Columbia University Grad, got some blood running through his veins that have run through all president's veins since Washington-(blood kin with Bush and Cheney, unless you have forgotten)
