(that is also where the laugh 'track' is coming, I figured Obama did it on a talk show or something, but the laughing comes from playing the audio recording in a program with audience I guess)
Obama has shown time and again that he is far more humble than he is arrogant - a characteristic that the people require for them to see a public figure as a truly selfless, decent individual.

Uh, yeah, my comment was in response to the one above it:
Point is, Obama as a senator calling someone to appologize is still pretty fucking cool. Says something about the character of the next president. Pointing out that the phone call was from 2 years ago doesn't change much and the rest of zombieater's post is still valid.
Not saying you were wrong to correct him though.
This is both old news and TYT piggybacking on one of my favorite radio shows (Wait Wait Don't Tell Me). Peter Sagel's explanation on the original clip is better, too, though I guess we'd have to post that on Audiosift.
