I hate Rick Warren, but I appreciate Obama's perspective here. And Lowery is a giant of the civil rights movement who has been a strong advocate of LGBT issues, so Obama chose members of both the religious right and the religious left to be at his inauguration.

I find it a bit odd that so many liberal blogs are losing their shit over this.

How many times has Obama told the world that he's a christian, and his christian values lead him in his judgements? The guy has been telling us for over two years that he is against same-sex marriage. Why would he have this POV other than because of his "faith" and wacked belief system?

Hold on -
is Obama Christian or not?
If he is, he's gotta get that message out there more, so people know and stop thinking he's Muslim.

He should get a pastor to deliver his inauguration address and make it known.

Otherwise, knowing he fosters and supports debate and disagreements, it may seem he's a Muslim who disagrees with the Christian faith, and supports that.

Would Obama invite someone on the other side of the "race-issue"? a KKK'er to speak perhaps? No. This is why fascistic, fundamentalist loonies like Rick Warren should not be given a forum at the presidents side. The gay question is not simply a "matter of opinion" it is not an issue where "your views is as good as my views" type thing, Its about totalitarianism and fascism, "I decide how YOU live your life" Its not just a difference of opinion, its a difference of fundamental values, which do you put first?, your nutty religious ideas and assumptions, or the freedom of other people. If its the first, you belong in Iran, if its the latter, you belong in the free parts of the world.
