It may be obvious but I wanted to point it out anyway, that this scene is a dramatic interpretation of a confrontation between Nixon and the "young people" of whom Nixon always regarded as "troublemakers." So while this confrontation never really happened, from a dramatic, storytelling perspective, it reveals a truth about Nixon's personality and his remarkable political prowess.
