Pachinko is the devil. You're more likely to go deaf from repeated exposure to that than from going to rock concerts frequently, listening to loud music all the time, and working construction. Not stupid enough to waste my money on it myself, but a friend that tried it lost about fifteen bucks in a minute or two.

Pachinko parlours are soul-less, life-less, depressing bloody places. Wasn't a woman charged about 10 years ago, for leaving her infant in a car, parked outside a pachinko place for something like 6 hours, while she gambled away inside? I forget the details, now, but I remember thinking it was a tragedy at the time.
