You know how sometimes, when comedy is really really bad, it to some degree actually becomes funny simply because its so poor? I always thought the hosts of "americas funniest home videos" had perfected that science of trying to be funny but failing at it so bad that it involuntarily becomes funny again. Seems like someone just managed to take that to an entirely new level.

I noticed the same thing here as with McCain and Obama's roasts. The conservative 'humour' is more like thinly veiled insults and completely mean spirited. It's like they can't get past the bully phase of their lives in High School.

Jon Stewart makes fun of liberals all the time. It's just that Republicans are easier to pick on. He did a number of jokes on John Kerry. Pretty much anything in politics and the news that is humorous is put on the Daily Show.

This is what we call "try hard". It's obvious that you are trying hard to be funny. And that makes it not funny. Might be better with a dead-pan host like Colbert.

Also, setting up the video with the knowledge that it's conservative leaning gives people expectations that taint the experience. We watch for the spin, not the humor. Makes it harder to find the humor. For example, that first joke about the "racist" stock market might be funny, but the humor is ruined because we know they are playing to the audience that is completely in denial about being racists. It also is trying to pin the stock market woes on Obama, rather than the guy who is still in power.
