WikiPedia: Formula Rossa is a launched roller coaster located at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is the world's fastest roller coaster at a top speed of 240 kilometres per hour (150 mph). The ride accelerates to its top speed in 4.9 seconds using a hydraulic launch system which is similar to that used on aircraft carriers. The roller coaster is over 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) in length, ranking it 5th in the world. Due to the high speeds and high occurrence of dust storms in Abu Dhabi, all riders are required to wear protective glasses.
