You can do it both ways, your way is just more efficient. Since THC is highly soluble in lipids, you can also do it with oil or other similar substances.

the cool thing about putting it in butter is that you can eat it with anything you'd have with butter, which in my case, is everything.

...sometimes I miss the good ol' stoner days, it was such a nifty little hobby.
