Man gets hit by Train and Semi SIMULTANEOUSLY, lives!
tags:NO AUDIO. This guy is seriously lucky. While patiently waiting to cross the tracks he gets clobbered by a semi-trailer that crosses and gets hit. Just watch it.
EDIT: Thanks for the updated video, Joe.

How is a freeway pile up illegal to post but you don't see anything but a cars collide from 100 yards away. But this is ok to post???!
Also, can you swap the embed for this one because it has both angles.
He was standing pretty much directly on the train tracks.
If the truck hadn't been there to 'cushion the blow' and nudge (albeit violently) him aside, I think he might have been instantly killed.
Not to mention how amazing it is that after the initial blow which knocked him down, the trailer just slid clear over him.
Horrendous looking accident, indeed.
But not quite as gruesome (snuff) as it first looks, once analyzed.
Anyway, if the truck caused him to notice the train and step back, then the truck probably did save his life. If he kept standing where he was and the train kept coming he'd have been hit hard and not just knocked over.
I seriously hate you guys... How is this not snuff? It is graphic accident and only a technicality the guy didn't die.

true
Where was the conductor's horn?
I wonder what recourse & action is being done in response to this accident.
I had the same thoughts as jasonyc, and watching it again I still do. I think he was standing dangerously close to the tracks -- his toes were pretty much on the rail. He only looked to the right and stepped back when the truck came into his peripheral vision.
I don't believe he stepped back because the truck entered his vision. I think what happened is when the conductor slammed on the brakes that sound made him turn.
But then, the semi crossed in front of the train, and he realized it was going to get smacked. He may also have realized it had just made him unsafe.
He knew he was about to witness a train wreck, and perhaps he was trying to work out what exactly was about to happen and what he should do to save himself.
In other words, not * EIA.
He said he has a "New Respect for Life" and he wants to get married.
I just watched the CNN story on this. The guy (he works there, hence the hardhat) was directing the truck across the tracks. CNN reports neither of them knew the train was coming until it was too late.
I told ya'll that he was not standing in a safe position and he was not waiting for the train to pass. And part of the reason he didn't see the train was that it was going in reverse and thus was relatively silent.
He said he has a "New Respect for Life" and he wants to get married.
Don't those 2 ideas conflict?
Erm...no. The train hits the truck. He gets hit by the truck. He doesn't get hit by both.
Jeez, slow down. Can we not assume the person who posted this knew the guy survived by the hint 'lives!' in the title?
No, we can't. Relying on videosift titles as evidence is like relying on a paper bag to protect you from machine gun fire.
