ps. It's fairly obvious the guy who got beat down touched the cop while being fairly aggressive. Showing off for the chicks. Not a good idea. That actually IS battery on a police officer. You can get charged with assault on a police officer by bumping his squad car while he's trying to pull you over.

Are you watching the same video I am? At wrost it was a confrontive chest thrusting, which sure, can annoy the crap out of a cop, but the skin head mob reaction by ALL the cops suggests there's something pretty sick going on in that precinct.
You know, I'd like to see a video where a horrifically violent perp gets a measured response from one or two of the OTHER millions of cops rather than the couple dozen -who are complete fucktards- that make their way on here.

There are plenty of those vids out there, mostly from Spike TV and TruTV shows.
The police force needs to be purged of these bad elements, because they demean our whole idea of law and fairness.

Yes. Please sift real arrests from 'Cops' or something LOL I don't like most peoples instant distrust and dislike of ALL police when viewing videos like this.

WTF? Still not what one would call a measured response. They look like trainees or something.
They only dropped charges hoping the guy won't sue. (If they went in front of a judge and he saw that video the thrown out criminal charges, plus discovery would help his civil case, this way it will be very expensive to try and sue the cops)
On a side note, I wonder how this would be handled if the kid threw a punch back. Would he sill be charged? If a cop throws an unprovoked punch at me can I defend myself or do I have to curl into a fetal position and say "Stop officer friendly!"
There is no way you can defend yourself except covering your vital body parts and even that could result getting hurt even more. There are too many videos out there that shows that even the basic reaction of curling into fetal position can get you tasered..
Well, he can be charged whether he did anything or not. Given the corroboration of 3 or 4 upstanding fellow police officers, he can be convicted.
Unless there is a video.
Only in bizarro world could this be considered assault. Clearly the prosecution agrees. Or the tape got released.
