(AP) NEW YORK (AP) - MSNBC's Contessa Brewer has apologized for mixing up civil rights activists Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. She made the slip-up Wednesday while introducing Jackson during a segment on homelessness.

BTW I seem to have a mental block concerning the correct use of apostrophes so I'm getting out there and using them more, here is my basis for using "MSNBCs' Contessa" (The AP use "MSNBC's Contessa", I udnerstand both are correct?):

1. When items are described by an acronym or an abbreviation, there is no need to add an apostrophe to denote the plural:

MP (military police) sixteen MPs

PC (personal computer) a network of PCs

MB (megabyte) 100 MB

2. But the apostrophe should be used in any expression which includes an element of possession:

MPs' salaries a PC's capacity

yeah, should be MSNBC's. you only put the apostrophe after the S if you wanted to say it was both plural and possessive (eg "all 12 employees' cars were stolen"), so unless there are multiple stations named MSNBC...

grammar aside, can't blame her too much for reading her teleprompter, but i guess she should have corrected herself a little faster. seems like by the time he started talking, her brain was probably 3 steps ahead of her getting ready for the back-and-forth with him.

can't tell from the clip, but he didn't really look that offended or anything, i mean its not like she called him some offensive name or something.
