Agree with ^danny. There's nearly zero in common with MJ's dancing. Aside from the 720 degree spin, all JB did was crazy legs and jiggly feet.

MJ actually based many more of his moves on those of Gene Kelly.

Well IMO if no one "borrowed" from other artists. Music, art, and dance, etc. Just about everything would be exactly the same as it was originally. There would be no progression if you couldn't/didn't take an existing idea and add your own touches.

It was Pablo Picasso who famously quipped that "Good artists borrow, great artists steal".

Picasso was one of the greatest artists who ever lived, and he stole a lot! Regarding your thesis of Michael Jackson vs. James Brown, I guess my question is... so what?

Aside from the attempted "exposure of MJ" angle, this is a great friggin' video! James Brown could really rock.
