I've read they already make really great pets except during their breeding season (they get aggressive). I guess because they're naturally very social animals. I was going to post that it's totally illegal to own a pet prarie dog because some people caught monkey pox from some (and they get bubonic plague) BUT I see that the ban was lifted last week, wow =)
