Exploitational, demeaning to women, but Kylie's bum trumps all of that.

Just because something's sexy doesn't make it "demeaning to women" or "exploitational".
And how old is Kylie Minogue now, in her 40's? Showing that someone her age can still be sexy isn't degrading, it's empowering.

OMFG PRON ON THE SIFT!

It would be a great ad to put in the cinemas, but I believe it got banned or something?

I saw it in the cinema. Although no men stood up, there were a number of erect members in the audience, if you get my drift.

ugh. she's much sexier in the "slow" video.

am i the only man alive that likes either clothed, or naked, but doesn't really get anything out of "lingerie" ?

i could get more horny by sneaking a peek at a girl in a tight tshirt on a bus than watching this.

I find her more pretty and sweet rather than sexy. Not voting for your first post Chogs!

agent provocateur is anything but sexist or exploitative of women... in fact they've got a strong commitment to providing incredibly wonderful (albeit expensive) underthings to women of a wide range of ages and body types... and it shows in their marketing as well, because not only is kylie not the typical age of an underwear model, but, they've also recently hired Catherine Bailey, who at 46 is still a stone cold fox, to be the lead model of their new line, and before that, they had a post-preggers Maggie Gyllenhal modeling for them... and really, that's a hell of a better message than most women's clothing manufacturers send out.

so always, as I do love the sexy ladies, *promote

and *sexuality and *femme

They're looking pretty good, even though she had part of her breast removed (a partial mastectomy) 2 years ago.

It's a mixed message here. On the one hand she's making fun of the poor fellows who can't stand up because they've succumbed to her awesome sexual power. The sales pitch, which is really just the unstated message, is that to achieve this power, you have to wear this expensive, sexy lingerie.

I don't find this empowering. Especially since the stuff she's wearing is the most restrictive, unnatural and probably itchy bloody stuff you wouldn't want to have on your sensitive bits. Garter belts look entirely better than they feel.

I used to think that lingerie made me more sexy. I got over it.

Oh don't get me wrong Persephone... I know we can be totally sexy without overpriced, uncomfortable underoos (in fact, I prefer it that way too 90% of the time)... and this stuff is overpriced, I was playing about their website yesterday, panties alone are something like $30 a piece, and given the amount of fabric involved, hardly worth the investment in my opinion... I was merely pointing out that as an ad campaign, which it most definitely is (BUY BUY BUY ALL OF YOU ), its much more inclusive than other women's fashion companies (i.e. Victoria's Secret) which generally use models of impossible standards (6'5" and stacked like a brick shit-house) and fall into that miniscule age bracket of about 18-22... granted, we don't all look like Kylie, Catherine, or Dita, but at least its a bit better, and in the world of high-end knickers, its better by miles.

...and let the males chime in here as well, I have spoken with females on both sides of this fence, AND, worn some women's under garments myself, and most of the gals, enjoy the effects and sensations of wearing fancy undies, regardless of their discomfort-I hate the feeling of restriction and perhaps, concentrated areas of perspiration when dressing to the nines in the Armani, but the effect of the Italian suit, tailored to fit, fa r outweighs all that.....Ladies, if you feel sexy and special, because you just forked over cabbage at Victoria's Secret or AP, it's because...YOU ARE!!!

You mean they enjoyed wearing it for the twenty seconds that it took you to tear it off them, hey Choggie? I think if you could observe most women for a day, you'd find them at the end of it ripping their bras off the minute they get indoors and garter belts. Are you kidding me? They don't make it easy to pee, because you can't get your panties down low enough past the snaps. Simply not practical!

Raven, if their ad campaign had shown a post-pregnant woman with sagging belly, boobs and stretch marks, I'd be impressed.

Well I agree with you about the statement on day long discomfort, some types of lingerie are definitely not something I would wear for more than a few hours or if I were going to go about an average work day, that is definitely a cotton panties, no underwire kind of get up, but like you said, generally this kind of stuff is not on for that long.

However, what choggie says about the sensation of restriction feeling pleasant for some women, I do have to agree, and I will freely admit that I do love the feel of a well made corset, for up to several hours or more, same goes with garter belts and such... don't get me wrong, I'm glad we no longer live in a society where that is the standard uniform, but it is nice to play and indulge now and again... call me a freak, I don't know, its what turns me on, everyone is different, hence the wide and wonderful range of apparel available to people... also, another way I look at it, is that there are things far stranger out there... I mean, there are some folks who like to be spanked while wearing full body latex and gas masks, I'm not one of them, but if that's their bag, then go for it!

I do, however, concede to your dislike of the ad campaigns, although agent provocateur is somewhat more inclusive with their selection of their spokesmodels, those models still do have master stylists and makeup artists getting them ready for the camera, not to mention probable photoshop touch-ups... so with that in mind, I suppose they are not that much better than any other company trying to push their products on us.
