John McCain on Social Security

"But I'm not for quote privatizing Social Security, I never have been, I never will be." [New Hampshire Town Hall, 06/12/08]

"Without privatization, I don't see how you can possibly, over time, make sure that young Americans are able to receive Social Security benefits." [C-Span Road to the White House, 11/18/2004]

In a recent poll, the younger the voter, the more likely s/he was to be a supporter of Barrack Obama. The only age group in which McCain excelled was with those over the age of 65 (who prefered McCain to Obama @ 48% to 41%). I wonder how Obama might win over the older voters. Perhaps McCain's position on Social Security might help.
