Not a complete surprise, but I've never heard anybody explain it so frankly before.

President George W. Bush directed the new head of the Central Intelligence Agency, Gen. Michael Hayden to build a vast domestic spying network that will pry into the lives of most Americans around the clock.

Hayden was to "take whatever steps necessary" to monitor Americans 24/7 by listening in on their phone calls, bugging their homes and offices, probing their private lives, snooping into their financial records and watching their travel habits.

I would like to think he has a valid point, but this video leaves me wondering if he's seeing more than what's there.

It would be total sweetness to sit down and listen to this guy for hours. I like his style of story telling.

^(in response to major tom) I doubt it. Why? Because most people (in the US) give our government the benefit of doubt that they are doing whats best for us. The reality is that our government doesnt protect us nearly as much as they control us. Believe me when i say, that whenever our government feels as though they are losing control on any level, they will react quickly and quietly to restore the balance as they see fit and there is NO ONE looking over their shoulders to make sure that what is being done is either ethical or fair.

you may be thinking "aww thats hogwash. It cant be that bad." But it is. Infact it is worse than you can imagine. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and if you think our government is looking out for the people at the bottom of the totem pole, think again.

America is much like a machine that runs on several things, the largest two being blood and money. Our blood in the form soldiers to both protect and enforce the will of our government and money as the other means of continuing its un-ending desire for more power. The flow of these two are monitored very closely, as the better they understand whats going on, the more in control they are. Intelligence gathering is simply their way of ensuring they continue to remain in control. More intelligence means more proficiency means more production means more power.

knowledge is power and we all know it. The greed of humanity dictates that we as a species will always want more. More knowledge, more power. As technology grows there become more and more ways to put Americans under the microscope and that means more and more opportunities for the government to carry on unregulated, unwatched, and unhindered by ethics or laws.

So in short, what i am saying is that the government will never stop and never has stopped looking into our lives for means of better control to ensure its own survival.

I realize it's popular to always assume the worst with the government and it's activities. I know I'm guilty of this myself, but I simply think taking a rational, skeptical point of view is the best course of action.

Much like my stance on religion, I refuse to accept non-substantive opinion as fact.

Would you count this as a fact?

The National Security Agency has been secretly collecting the phone call records of tens of millions of Americans, using data provided by AT&T, Verizon and BellSouth, people with direct knowledge of the arrangement told USA TODAY.

really it's interesting... but doesn't make any sense... why say anything at all... if not go far enough to reveal in detail?...

What does function or purpose does that serve... and to what benifit?... Why tell us this and not be specific...

My guess is that he'll get arrested if he's too specific. Or maybe his plane will go down. The CIA has gotten pretty good at that.

I like Jesse and I think he's telling us this to try to illustrate how corrupt our government has become.

We're supposed to be a free country, but here we have the CIA grilling a legally elected third-party governor, trying to find out how he was elected so that, ostensibly, they can make sure it never happens again.

1.
Beverly Eckert was on board the crashed Buffalo plane.
Google her name.

She met Obama last week with other relatives of 9/11 victims and the bombing of the USS Cole, to discuss the new administration's fight against terror.

In 2003 she was published in USA Today, saying:

"I've chosen to go to court rather than accept a payoff from the 9/11 victims compensation fund. Instead, I want to know what went so wrong with our intelligence and security systems that a band of religious fanatics was able to turn four U.S passenger jets into an enemy force, attack our cities and kill 3,000 civilians with terrifying ease. I want to know why two 110-story skyscrapers collapsed in less than two hours and why escape and rescue options were so limited."

2.
Historian Alison Des Forges was also on board the crashed Buffalo plane.
Google her name.

Des Forges appeared as an expert witness in 11 trials for genocide at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. We just had a genocide in the middle east.

Everyone owes it to themselves to spend 10 minutes on google learning about who these people were, THEN watch Jesse Ventura in this clip.

Jesse Ventura should be hailed as a real life American Fucking Hero.

Someone outta *promote this in light of recent events.
