I know you guys (Dag, Lucky) have been against it, but why can't the 'suggested dupes' list pick up discarded posts? I swear I don't want to flog a dead horse here but MG is on the money (except the misspelling part, as I fixed that). Seriously, is it that difficult to put in?

The problem is, that after almost 2 years- there are usually a lot of dead discarded dupes. This would possibly outweigh the live dupes and parsing through them would be confusing and not fun for the submitter.

The thing is, there's nothing wrong with submitting a replacement that has already been discarded, it's fair game. This particular post though does have a bit of history.
