Quack, quack, quack. (U.S. slang for a doctor who practices sham medicine.) However, a new surgical approach being developed, termed NOTES would have been inconceivable several decades ago. The technique involves inserting robotic equipment through the mouth, anus, or vagina. For instance, the "snake" could be sent down the mouth, passed through an incision in the stomach wall, and the gall bladder or appendix dissected free and retrieved through the mouth. Two of the drawbacks, a sore throat, and a bad taste in your mouth.

Hah hilarious, I'm kinda divided when it comes to some forms of traditional medicine tho, I've gone to see medicine men or "shamans" within my own ojibway/mohawk culture a couple of times and it seems to have an effect on some people. However, I'd in no way substitute it for seeing a licensed doctor.

perhaps nanotechnology will render any surgeries obsolete-If....it is not used for the benefit of the few-

traditional (non-cut-and-sew) medicine in terms of bio-mimicry could be a resourceful tool, as we are all part of a larger biological scope. However, I don't know what this "slight of hand" has anything to do with a good "shaman" unless they were working off of pure placebo.

This actually reminds me of "Man on the Moon" which is an excellent movie.
