"Jackie Chan has been injured on numerous occasions during filming usually from doing his own stunts, and occasionally, these mishaps can be seen as bloopers during the end credits of his films."

Jesus he's one of a kind....that stunt from Police Story is my all time fav, but before that, is the slide down the building in New Police Story.....Harold Lloyd all the way.....

he is to be honored and respected. yet name one decent american film he's done...(IMO none - that highlight the type of Jackie Chan films that made him famous). I love his films before he came to american cinema (hollywood)
i wonder how he deals with the long term pain from all those injuries.

It's missing the stunt (I think from either Rumble in the Bronx or Supercop) where he broke his foot and continued to film with a cast that looked like a shoe.

The fact that he can be involved in all of these two-bit Hollywood movies and STILL be respected by many (including myself) says a great deal about this legend.

By the way, the shoe one was Rumble in the Bronx. He jumped onto a hovercraft and broke it.

He is a movie legend, plain an simple. It'll be very unlikely that we see another like him, who can do as much as he does and be willing to do so.

Yes he has done a lot of half arsed American movies since his amazing Asian ones, but I feel they're his reward (money, fame wise) for all the incredibly hard yards he put into things early on.

Yeah, the Tuxedo was amazingly terrible. However, I think that the rest of the ones that I've seen are good.

A little off topic, but coincidentally, I just watched "New Police Story" the other night (*cough* torrent *cough* AvistaZ *cough*) and it is honestly the best Jackie Chan movie and one of the best action movies I've ever seen. The story is great in depth and action-packed. Also check out Fulltime Killer, which I also just saw and is another great Chinese flick.

The original drunken master part two, released here as "legend of the drunken master" has what is, in my opinion, the greatest fight scene ever recorded. The last fight in the movie. It's the reason that I don't like most Jet Li movies.

I think the final fight in Young Master (1980) is better (strangely it doesn't fit the broken 1-2 style of the fights earlier in the movie). My favorite from Jackie

"yet name one decent american film he's done..."

Well Rumble in the Bronx was pretty good. People also hate on Rush Hour but it did a very good job with the buddy formula. There's a reason why it was shown on TBS like 50 times along with Shanghai Noon. Anyway, if you watch his "My Stunts" he foreshadows experimenting with CGI and we know how that turned out (Medallion, Tuxedo).

As lucky120 mentioned "New police Story" (2004) is one of his better movies which makes you wonder why his recent American productions are so terrible (too ambitious, experimental maybe, no idea)
