This video uses over 4000 photocopies as animation cells. I think the technique is brilliant, but these guys didn't even win the contest to have this used as the official video for Modest Mouse's song.

hmm, yes, while the way in which they did it can be considered quite original, the same look could have been achieved in much shorter time by adding the affected footage in post.

Cool stop motion animation. The technique reminds me of the animation used in the What You Need music video by INXS from 1985.

The point is that it is supposed to be a painstaking work of art. But yeah, it would have been nice to save some trees. I hope it was all recycled.

Could someone link to the video that won the contest, so we can decide if the band made the wrong choice or if the other vid. is so mindblowing that it beats this vid. by several lenghts!
