"Inappropriate" Ad. Should Even Artful Nudity Be Banned?
tags:"By now, you've likely seen the naked Calvin Klein perfume ad (for the new scent Secret Obsession) featuring actress Eva Mendes. No? As a public service to our readers, we present it in all its glory above. But make sure you catch it now, because the thing is, you won't be seeing it on TV anytime soon—and you can blame George W. Bush. American TV networks have said the spot is inappropriate and will not be shown in its current form. The move sent the ad's creative director, badass Frenchie Fabien Baron, into a fit of rage. And apparently the prudish move by U.S. networks is just one more reason to vote for Obama in November.
When Baron heard the news of his ad's demise (on vacation in France, naturellement), he laid into the Prez, saying: "This country really needs a new president—this country is so messed up.... It's such a joke and it's quite upsetting, frankly, how hypocritical this country has become. It's OK for children to see people killed by guns? Spreading a little love right now would be a good idea."
Eva Mendes, saving babies from guns, one nipple slip at a time. Now that's a reason for patriotism, isn't it?" -- From Radar

Bravo sir.
Although your hits would skyrocked if you did include the word 'banned' in there, people love to see something they 'not supposed' to
Here, not only do ads feature breasts rather regularly (for stuff like shower gel, and shampoos and whatnot), but many soap operas intros have breasts on them. And guess what FCC? No one gets scared for life about it, and our children don't turn into sexual deviants.

Good point, i've got an even better one though; sexual deviancy was around long before adverts. I like the way we as a society have made nudity a taboo. Everyone's got a body, everyone fucks, there's nothing special or inappropriate about naked people, and the only reason it's inappropriate is because we've made it so. We're so clever! See how we scurry around the planet so worried and so stressed over things that don't matter. How great we are!
God i hate this world. /rant
