In The Flesh - Pink Floyd

So ya thought ya might like to go to the show.
To feel the warm thrill of confusion, that space cadet glow.

I got me some bad news for you, Sunshine.
Pink isn't well, he stayed back at the hotel,
And he sent us along as a surrugate band.
We're gonna find out where you fans really stand.

Are there any queers in the theatre tonight?
Get 'em up against the wall. -- 'Gainst the wall!

And that one in the spotlight, he don't look right to me.
Get him up against the wall. -- 'Gainst the wall!

And that one looks Jewish, and that one's a coon.
Who let all this riffraff into the room?

There's one smoking a joint, and another with spots!
If I had my way I'd have all of ya shot.

I will say that (in retrospect) this kind of classic (cartoonish) fascist symbolism has done us all a disservice.

People looking for fascism these days keep looking for jack boots.

Nothing short of an Adolf impersonator will make them believe that our illustrious leaders aren't the cleanest little idealists ever.

but , this scene , at the start where he is pointing out his enemies,, the queers , the coons IS CUT .
i just don't get it, yes the language is offensive , but it makes the point .
the guy has flipped his wig and is going mad with hate , so he picks on those most different.
watch the the eunuch version sometime,,you'll end up wanting to slightly slap some viacom exec silly.

What!? You don't see the screaming crowd of adoring fans, the lights, the banners, the triumphal music, you don't see that echoed in the RNC or DNC or the inauguration? You don't see it in the worship of the red, white and blue? The Hand on heart sincerity of the crowds singing the national anthem? You don't see the parallels? Really?
