deathcowsays..."Imus and the Nappy Headed Hos" tell me thats not a good kids book title.
And did that guy at the end just say "You always fag out..." ?
deathcowsays...LOL at the scrolling msg below
deathcowsays...I see this issue has escalated to the front page of CNN now.
silvercordsays...*politics
siftbotsays...Video added to politics channel (politics called by gold star member silvercord)
silvercordsays...Who's going to lose their job this time? Anyone???
deathcowsays...He made his apology and got two weeks off for his work.
deathcowsays...from MSNBC.com...
Breaking News
MSNBC IS DROPPING THE DON IMUS PROGRAM FROM ITS SCHEDULE
mlxsays...I have a big problem with this. No, I don't condone what Imus said, but neither do I condone what's been has done to him. Let's just throw out the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution... there's no such thing as the Freedom of Speech anymore.
rickegeesays...Would you lose your job if you called someone a nappy-headed whore? I surely would.
Imus is still free to speak. And free to absorb the consequences. It is valid for you to say that the punishment doesn't fit the crime, but his ability to speak nonsense remains unabated today.
The First Amendment doesn't guarantee the right to an 8 million contract to spread the beauty of unfettered speech. The advertisers were going to walk, the returns to CBS would diminish, living off the corporate teat is sometimes cruel.
There is always satellite radio . . .
fireflysays...Don Imus is still alive?
mlxsays...This has become a story about the media, about what's acceptable and what isn't...
deathcowsays...I see the Rutgers team has accepted the Imus apology. I'm so relieved, I can go on with my life now... no more waking up tortured in the middle of the night. I sure hope CBS, NBC, MSNBC, ABC and FOX cover the apology for several days.
