Some 60% of the private citizen bankruptcies are caused by excessive medical costs. Quality of health care is lower than many other nations, including a number of third world nations. Individual health care costs per citizen are in excess of 3x higher than other nations with better services.
So who is getting shafted? The US citizenry, that is who.
This from a senator who has his health care provided for him, at taxpayer expense, for the rest of his life.
