So damn true, it had me from 'lets talk now with our panelists'.

The amount of mouth flapping and inane dribble that fills the airwaves now is insane. And yes, it's at the expense of just WATCHING/LISTENING to things actually happening.

God I hate some of these modern news trends. So much of what is said is so vacuous. Why is it such a sacred rule that you can't go 2 seconds without talking? Why would you accept editorial comment from idiots on twitter at the expense of actual experts?

It's not that freaking hard -- perform actual investigating, fact checking, analysis, and reporting. Ask serious questions to leaders and follow up on them hard.

The debate about health care is so stupid. Talk to the actual economists and health care experts, don't get into emotional traps about "quotas" or "freedom".

And don't talk about the maneuvering on capital hill. Don't try and make a daily scorecard. It's about the issues not the freaking process. "Oh does Obama look bad because his timeline might be moved back". That is asinine.
