People are assholes in panic.
People are slow to react when something doesn't affect them directly.
People shouldn't cross roads in heavy traffic.

Did he survive? It's certainly *dark and in a way also * terrible, but that channel doesn't really fit here.

I was just duping when I found this. I feel just horrible for the old guy.

Here's the summary I typed out:

This poor 78-year-old guy in Hartford, CT is crossing a two lane street when he is struck by a car and goes flying over the hood.

The driver speeds off, but unbelievably NO ONE helps him. Cars continue driving around his body on the ground and passersby on the sidewalk do essentially nothing.

Finally at the end of this clip a police officer shows up and radios for an ambulance, but he just happened to be driving down this street and no one else bothered to call 911 for an ambulance up to that point.

In a society where people sue people for getting their dinner order wrong, I am surprised that YOU people are surprised.

Here in Canada we have what's called a "good samaritan" law, where if you don't do anything you're not trained to do and provided to the injured, you cannot be sued. From what I understand, "y'all" can sue anyone if a judge says it's legal. If you went over to him, and his family decided you shouldn't have, you'd be opening yourself up to damages.

Gawking at a violent act is genetic anyway. Everyone is in shock at one of the other apes getting attacked, but the lions have run off, so there's no personal danger. I'm personally amazed someone didn't poke him with a stick.

diffusion of responsibility, as in the case of Kitty Genovese. truly tragic. If the guy dies, does this violate the terms of use against posting snuff videos?
