Heath Ledger-Directed Music Video (No Fixed Abode)

The final music video directed by Heath Ledger is out online now.

The actor, who won a posthumous supporting-actor Oscar for The Dark Knight, had behind-the-camera interests, too, specifically directing music videos.

The video is for the song "Cause An Effect" recorded by Ledger's childhood friend, rapper No Fixed Abode. The Australian native, also known as N'fa, says Ledger worked on the project in his garage in Sydney just months before his January 2008 death.

"The idea was to keep it very artistic, which is what we did," N'fa says. "Heath directed really well ... and I know that Heath was happy with the work."

The clip was shown earlier this month in a tribute to Ledger at the Rome Film Festival. Its release comes two months after his directorial debut — a music video for Modest Mouse — premiered online. Ledger died from an accidental drug overdose at age 28.

"Everyday I count my blessings that I got to have him direct this piece of art. It was a song I was proud to have written, but I never expected to have such an immense video made for it," N'fa says. "I'd known Heath since we were very young, and he was always a creative kind of guy and, in many ways, ahead of the curve. When he had the idea about doing this video, I had no question about it.

Fans also can see Ledger's last work in front of the camera when The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus hits theaters Dec. 25.
