human trafficking is a serious problem, even in the western countries. society doesn't seem too concerned with it, it seems to me. as this piece points out, it's there to be seen if you only look. the press covers the issue from time to time, and can't help but make it seem sensationalistic. but it's very real. thanks for the post.

There is a new drama on SkyOne that deals with this issue. I can't remember the name off the top of my head but its a really serious issue that has only recently started making its way into the mainstream media. I'm glad something is being done about it, although the fact that it needs a campaign like this is a shocking indication of how big the problem is.

Sadly, this is old news. In the 90's it was kids into Africa to work the cocoa fields and service the other workers after sundown. In the 80's it was Southern American women into the porn industry. However, if there can be a bright side to it all, in the majority of cases the women get back at those who traffic them by killing them when pushed too far or ratting them out to the cops. If someone helps them along the way, good show.
