Half-Life movie teaser!

We could only wish it was real...

I really hope there is never a half life movie... as really, it can but destroy what beauty there is in the tale.

One of the great things of the games is while you do know what Gorden looks like, you never see him in game or hear him either, so you can place yourself into it far more effectively (albeit you happen to be a mute).

Giving him a face and voice in a movie will make it harder to hold that immersion as well because you'll keep seeing the movie version in your mind's eye.

I was checking on a bug - calling notdead on a queued video will publish it.

Oh, that was hilarious.

spoco, 2 hours of 1st-person Gordon-cam? I'll have to agree, there's no good way to make a HL movie.

I think a sufficiently skilled director with a strong script could pull it off.

Uwe Boll on the other hand, of course, couldn't pull off a sock from his foot with a jet-powered sock-removing device, let alone a successful movie.

People! People!

This is VALVE we're talking about! No matter who directs it, they would never let it be an atrocity.
Also, it wouldn't be first person. It would be very possible to have a movie about this, but it wouldn't be true the the story line (walking around by himself). And it would probably be made after the series was over, so I wouldn't worry about them making it difficult to assume his identity. I for one hate silent protagonists, but that's just me.

Relax, though, because there never will be a movie.

Great trailer, in fact it has me all worked up for the remake of Half Life 1, "Black Mesa: Source" (or whatever its called).

I've been anxiously waiting for that since Half Life 2 came out. Cant... wait... much.. longer...

Wow extremely well done.

I was impressed with the use of the signature breathing in that, its one of the things which really sticks out for me.

Also I helped find that bug by declaring that britney video dead and then the person after declared it not dead.

Further proof if it was needed that I am awesome.

^ Odd how I was thinking, even before I got to your post, about which testicle I would give up for someone to make this movie. Of course, I'd probably give up the other one to be sure it wasn't Uwe Boll.

G4 did an article on "What if They Made a Half-Life 2 Move," and what actors would play who.

I think a Half-Life movie could work. It doesn't even have to have Freeman in it. It could take place in the time between the end of the first Half-Life and Gordon's return in Half-Life 2.

In any case, they couldn't possibly tell the whole story of Half-Life in the time frame of a movie, perhaps it would be better suited for a TV series.

This "teaser" has been out for a long time.. IIRC.

There is no Half-Life movie announced yet on IMDB.

One way or another, I hope this won't be ever made into a movie.. I don't see how they would make it so that it would be interesting for the big screen.
