I think female shaving is interesting.

... from an anthropological POV. I put it up there with lip plates in Afrfica, neck lengtheners and Japanese women blackening their teeth in the 19th century to make themselves more beautiful.

It's an artificial attempt to make females more "feminine" which in Western culture equates to being more child-like and pre-pubescent looking.

Or am I bat-shit insane?

I have a similar but different opinion than Dag. I kinda prefer no armpit hair on male or female. I keep mine really short, but not shaved.

One of my girlfriends used to say that because the fashion industry is largely led by gay men, that they make their models look like boys, which has a trickle-down effect to our entire culture. Thus we are subconsciously conditioned to want our women to be boy-like.

Think about that next time you're watching porn and there's not a body hair in sight!

Female body hair generally doesnt bother me. I dont really get the revulsion people express at arm pit hair on women. I wont be shaving all over to suit women so I dont expect them to do likewise. That said, and I dont want to cause gross out or get banned/my comment removed, I have once encountered a big hairy lady butt. It was terrifying. Still makes me shiver at the thought. Yeesh.

You may as well say people who kiss their partners are secretly getting off on their mothers chewing their food and feeding it to them mouth-to-mouth. Adult behaviour is adult behaviour, regardless of origin.

To the vast majority of men, women are more attractive without body hair. This is simply a fact.

Had a GF who didn't shave her legs sometimes..not a huge turnoff, but a factor. There's something about a silky smooth leg that's..inviting

This vid got me thinking about what influences us to determine what is acceptable/sexy etc or not. I think most of us would like to think our preferences are the result of free-will and natural desire, but I am tending to think we are just products of all kinds of conditioning and are mostly unconscious of why we like/dislike body stuff.

This is not a universal, human belief and doesn't hold true for all cultures. Making a blanket "fact" statement like that makes me want to quote Socrates: "An unexamined life is not worth living."

I think life is more interesting when you try and figure out why you feel a certain way, instead making up stuff to support your worldview.

Words like belief and worldview really aren't appropriate when describing sexual attraction. Comparative lack of body hair is a female characteristic, and enhancing its effect by removing remaining hair will inevitably make a woman look more feminine and attractive to men. Different cultures have different customs, but you seem to be confusing custom with preference. We may not stretch necks or bind feet and others may not shave legs, but longer-necked, smaller-footed, smoother-skinned women are generally considered more beautiful.

My point was actually that these preferences shouldn't be considered right or wrong, they just are.
