It's funny, but my first joint wasn't much different except that I had the sense to not try to play it cool. When I was in Amsterdam at first, my friend wanted to smoke in a coffee shop and I was like "uh, no, I'm gonna cough and splutter so at least let me practise at the hotel". We did, I coughed and cried, but soon got the hang of it. Like this guy (presumably), I'm a non-smoker so it's rough at first. After a couple I'd got the hang of it, I'm sure I looked like a newbie when we did go to coffee shops but nothing too tragic. Hash still makes me cough something awful.

Damn I want to go to Amsterdam so much. It is the best place in the world and not (just) because of the coffee shops.

@AceOfKidneys - like me, he'll hardly have got anything from that. He coughed it out as soon as it hit the back of his throat, it doesn't look like any got into his lungs, never mind holding it.
