"Mitchell Joachi insists that his plans are not futuristic. As the Executive Director for Terreform, a “philanthropic design collective,” he is responsible for progressive solutions for current problems. Save for the overt reliance on CGI imagery, the plans he presented at Postopolis! seem robustly conditional on collective goodwill, but still grounded on hard statistics and grounded feasibilities."

Everything makes perfect sense, except for the building codes that prevent anyone from making their own house.
It seems to me that disease, physical damage, or even unequal-growth could 'total' a home made entirely of living trees, much like a car can be totaled with seemingly insignificant damage.
What about insulation? What about water proofing? What about plumbing/electrical wiring? Would flooring be limited due to roots needing oxygen/H20?
