Microcredit is the sometimes controversial practice of making small loans to the rural poor in developing countries. The 2006 Nobel Prize awarded to Dr. Muhammad Yunus, one of the founders of modern microfinance, has helped to push the industry even further into the spotlight.

What an awesome submission. Here is another Kiva story/video from the New York Times.

I would consider getting involved in a project like this, it would be fun to watch your third world buddy develop.
