"One thing could we do, could we start arming the anti government groups inside Iran, could their cars start blowing up inside Iran, like our humvees are blowing up, maybe inside Tahran so they wont be doing it inside Baghdad?"

After "weather problems"

"These militant groups are as upset about the direction of the Iranian government almost as much as the United States is, we are not doing enough to arm them to support them and let them create havoc inside Iran"

WTF? Does this guy know nothing of the history of middle-east warfare?
He needs to find out who it was who armed Osama and Hussein in the first place...

iraq was the lesser of two evils at the time. now that insane hussein is gone, iran is fair game.

If they blow up shit and kill randomly against our side, they're "terrorists". If they blow up shit and kill randomly for our side then they're "freedom fighters". WORLD of difference.

I've lost count about how many times that the US has supported insurgent forces in some other country. And in every case, it has come back to haunt us.

I guess I shouldnt be surprised that the States pull this routine often, It just sounds so wrong coming from the Anchors mouth. There has got to be another way to usher "peace and freedom."

Let's just give them a nuke. Like the American government, I can't imagine any form of "blowback" coming from that... Hell, give them some anthrax too, they love that stuff. And what's the policy on poison gas? Can we get them some of that too?

History certainly dosn't teach us anything about arming insurgency groups, no siry.

I love how the only clips they show of Iran is rockets. 0o0o0o0o0o0 they're so evil. it's all lies. they pose no threat. I hope they do get nukes so the americans will back off like they did against North Korea.

"are you americans going to take your country back from these neo-cons or what?!?!"

If I could understand what in the world that meant, I'd gladly give an answer...

"Let's just give them a nuke."

Don't give Hillary any ideas.

"how do these bushbabys talk to children."

Well now, that's a marvelous rhetorical question. If it made sense, it would be even more enlightening...

Uh, what agenda is that? The insidious conspiracy against supporting terrorism and endangering innocents? When did it become political to think that supporting car-bombs in capital cities is insane?

We could wait until a major American city is nuked before increasing sanctions and using sterner language condemning iran.

Or we can follow the examples set by Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Truman and Reagan and break out the big stick.

The world isn't fearing crazy Americans like it should. Fear = respect = staying #1.

For those that think Iran is harmless, that's great news! It will make the pilots of the F-22 Raptors we send to take out their military targets more relaxed.

"Or we can follow the examples set by Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Truman and Reagan and break out the big stick."

I think your historical references don't really pan out here, Iran has not attacked anyone recently, or seceded from the union.

Incidentally which army are you suggest doing this with? last I checked ours was already deployed beyond capacity.

Now if you are planning on just an unprovoked air-strikes, that sounds brilliant, since we can't back them up on the ground we will just start a war and run home hoping they don't follow us.

Perhaps this is the neo-con plan to hit somebody who can follow us home so the administration can say "see, they are following us home, just like we said". Of course the media will fail to recognize that response to an unprovoked attack on an internationally recognized nation state and "terrorism" are two different things. But I suppose we are used to this, it's like the osama/sadam switcharoo.

Remember the only things Iran is doing "wrong" are things we do all the time

1) talk about destroying other governments, Israel for them, Afghanistan/Iraq/Iran/North Korea for us.
2) developing nuclear capacity, theoretical for them, well developed for us, and we use them on civilians.
3) Providing material support to resistance fighters in other countries, Iraq for them, and just about everywhere else for us.

Iran's crime is that they are too much like the "USA", maybe they are just trying to be "#1"

Does it really surprise anyone that Iran would support the Iraqi insurgency after we armed and funded Hussein in a war against them? Not to mention the CIA triggering a bloody coup against their democratically elected prime minister in the 50s, and replacing him with a US friendly monarch. We Americans have a short memory, but that doesn't mean the nations we screw over will.

The truth is we've given them good reasons to hate us, and with all of the administrations threats and posturing, it seems we only want to make things worse. What we desperately need is diplomacy and reconciliation, and instead we reelected a war monger. Like most of the world I'm disappointed in America's actions over the last few years, but we have the opportunity to redeem ourselves by working as hard for peace as we have in the past for war.

I think your historical references don't really pan out here, the US hasn't nuked anyone since World War II. And that was to end a world war, the last time I checked.

"Now if you are planning on just an... air-strikes"

Worked for Bill Clinton, but liberals coveniently forget that...

""are you americans going to take your country back from these neo-cons or what?!?!"
If I could understand what in the world that meant, I'd gladly give an answer..."

Are you serious? What if you were to try really hard. Just sound out the words as you go and take it slow. Oh I get it, he didn't capitalize 'Are' and 'American', I can see now how you could be completely confused about the whole sentence and are unable to make out a single word or derive any kind of meaning.

"2) developing nuclear capacity, theoretical for them, well developed for us, and we use them on civilians."
I think your historical references don't really pan out here, the US hasn't nuked anyone since World War II. And that was to end a world war, the last time I checked.

Since being the operative word.

"Now if you are planning on just an... air-strikes"
Worked for Bill Clinton, but liberals coveniently forget that...

The sixth word in your response is spelled incorrectly. Subsequently I can not understand your entire sentence. Nope, no matter how hard I try I just can't work out what you might have been trying to spell. If only I could work out that sixth word I could read the whole sentence.

"Iran's crime is that they are too much like the "USA"
You're right, they're just like us. Wait... what?

I take it you either missed the point entirely or you have changed your mind?

Your troll-fu is weak, I suggest your not even the real Bill O'reilly!

.... FishBulb, don't be a grammar nazi and then make typos of your own. Very poor form. Making fun of BillO for not knowing that he is living in a neocon nightmare world is one thing, but refusing to answer a perfectly valid question about air strikes in the Sudan is very poor form. Not to mention a "your" when you meant "you're", and forgetting to capitalise O'Reilly. Terrible.

Umm no, actually the war was over. The Japanese had already agreed to surrender but the "official" surrender ceremony hadn't happened yet, somewhat like the British with Dresden (of course they don't teach any of this ACTUAL history in US classrooms, they prefer the Disney version where everything is black and white).

Intelligent historians all believe that the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki had nothing really to do with Japan, it was a warning to the Russians, "We have the bomb and we're not afraid to use it!"

Get YOUR history straight before trying to correct others.

Great followup Drachen_Jager. I'm a product of the US school system, so I see where US citizens frequently get their history wrong. US history courses neglect to show that the US had early warning of Pearl Harbor, yet did not react (one can debate the reasoning). They also neglect to teach that the war was well over and done with BEFORE the nukes dropped. Japan was in shambles and was powerless. The nukes were not necessary, but were dropped simply to 'flex muscles'. Lest we forget, many public school children are still told that Christopher Columbus discovered America(tm). Any person half educated would know that is complete trash. The continent was named after Amerigo Vespucci, and the first recorded settlers (the true discoverers) came tens of thousands of years before. As far as 'Europeans' arriving. The Norse/Vikings had small pre-colonization era settlements in what is now the eastern parts of Canada. All too often, people forget they are taught through a propagandist lens, and refuse to acknowledge that what they have been taught, while maybe not an outright lie, is only portrayed through a limited, patrio-favorable perspective. Often hiding past atrocities.

Tens of thousands of years ago, and it's recorded, eh? Neat! Didn't think that was possible, but neat!
