Fox news cut off a 12 year old girl!
tags:12 Year Old Girl Tells the Truth on Fox News about Georgia. Fox News even had to cut them off right in the middle of the account of Georgian aggression even though they had just come from a commercial break 2 minutes prior to that.

Never has anyone questioned a gist of a motive here regarding this conflict beyond "Them's bad people", and our fingers first point to the big bear (I am not claiming the Russian response of this ordeal as ideal, but still...). We have to acurately identify the culprit here if we are to be a legitimate world player; our credibility is slipping every year with this kind of political posturing "for the good guy". Is it really ignorance driving this, or a disbelief in the Average American Intelligence?
I am starting to see this Georgian Conflict as analogous to a Domestic Dispute. Some guy starts beating his wife to a bloody pulp in their home and when the cops come to "serve & protect", we, as noisy neighbors, try to blame the cops for the violence and get them jailed. This is just sick.
"(nnn), it's an injustice to the complexity of the situation to continually describe one side of this conflict as 100% correct."
I am taking issue with the one-sided approach of the US's "official stance" on this matter. If South Ossetia unanimously wants to secede from Georgia at this time in Georgia's early (recent) history, staging a violently mobilized attack on their own people is not a very democratic way to resolve this.
I gather you doubt the credibility of these people and that is fine by me, but with the plethora of other voices and witnesses to that POV (in so many different nationalities and motives), it begins to lend credence to this being a Georgia in conflict with Georgia (with a whole lot of Russian muscle thrown in). I urge you to drop the McCarthy-ist filter you are using and seeing "pinkos" behind every counter-voice/action and claiming "fake!"
Saakashvili is no lamb being led to slaughter, as he would have you believe. "look, look! I am under fire!" But nor would I so readily believe that a Bear loose in the camp is a sign of good things to come (like a circus).
When bombs are being dropped from planes, media affects our brains,
remember it's innocent children being slain.
And I'm feeling their pain and their bloodshed
How many more will end up dead?
"In this day and age": Dead Celebrity Status.
Don't think that all Americans swallow these lies whole. To say that is foolish, and its the same thinking that causes stupid wars like this. There are some here who think that wars are shit, and when the protest the mostly end up in detention centers.
Next time some one says a war should be fought tell themwith disdain "Then go fight in it."
So downvote for painting a situation.
I fucking hate it when people do that.
Russia might disagree. Consider their treatment of Chechnya just a stones throw away. Chechnya had as reasonable a claim to independence as South Ossetia. At the time Chechnya wanted its independence, many other Caucasian states (such as Georgia) were becoming independent as the USSR fell apart.
Our own actions are also tainted, since we'd been encouraging this kind of behavior from Saakashvili, and continue to pretend that they're innocent victims.
All that said, I generally agree with MG, as far as Fox News propaganda goes, this was pretty innocuous.
Wow. Just wow. That is perhaps one of the most pathetic things i've seen on TV. A reporter talking to eye-witnesses and essentially dismissing their views as wrong. Unbelievable. Truly.
What? He did no such thing. You should pay attention to the video, not only to the FOX logo...
As much as I dislike Fox, they did nothing horrible here. They did not cut anyone off. They have a schedule to keep, and they told the girl and her aunt that. He then respectfully told them he had no more time.

Actually, he did give them a proper 30 seconds, just like he said. But then he rushed his 10 seconds notice for them, though.
Fox News is a fucking propaganda department from start to finish.
For fuck's sake, this country has more than enough apologists to go around, doesn't it?
They probably invited those two women on their show because they wanted to hear some dirt about Russia. Fox News is disgustingly one-sided and any instance of the truth or impartiality leaking from its airwaves is purely coincidental and in all likelihood completely unintentional.
tell the girl to say that the Georgians are the ones starting the war
if the girl doesnt say it, her family dies
This isnt the first time Russia has done things like this...
>> ^Mgshadow:
1.take girls family hostage
2.tell the girl to say that the Georgians are the ones starting the war
3.if the girl doesnt say it, her family dies
4. ????
5. Profit!!
A major problem we have in this country: Close mindedness.

Just because you don't like FOX News, doesn't mean they did anything wrong in this situation. I think Fox is a joke and I'm a hardcore conservative. It's obvious what they do; They attempt to "balance" the news by reporting with obvious conservative overtones. It's the opposite of most news organizations and a lot less subtle. Still doesn't mean he was cutting them off.
...and he definitely didn't cut off a twelve year old like the title claims. She was done speaking long before.
Who's making stuff up now?

Fox News are the graffiti taggers of situational painting.
I still don't know what to think of the conflict, but I certainly see it as a gray area with neither side being blameless. It was reckless of Saakashvili to try to reclaim south ossetia despite the Russian promises to intervene. Then again, I'm not sure Russia has the right to intervene in another country's civil war. Any more then we did with Vietnam.
That is not "obviously" what they do.
Nothing that they do is related to "balance."
But explaining that to you is time wasted since I've got a pretty good idea of what you're all about, anyway.
Given that his introduction & first question took a full minute, they cut to commercial after only 2 minutes, then return for only 30 seconds before the end of the show? Seems like something they'd give the standard 6-8 minutes to ordinarily.
I also agree with rougy about what Fox had brought these guests on for -- likely to tell an eyewitness account of Russian brutality.
I think there's a larger issue we should be worried about here though. American media scarcely mentions that what these guests said is the typical response of Ossetians.
How many other reports have even mentioned the fact that Ossetia wanted independence from Georgia?
I'm not excusing what Russia's doing, but this story is filled with layer after layer of shades of grey, and American media reports it as "Russia bad, Georgia friend", and talks about how agressively we should respond to Russia's violation of Georgia's sovreignty.
The groundwork is being laid here for military action, not diplomacy, and it is not just Fox News doing it.
Yes it may have been that they cut it short, maybe, but it wasn't as was described, and he did let them get in a quick word again at the end.
I kinda wish I didn't do an reflect upvote now
I doubt anyone knows the full truth about the situation over there.
Do you think that any one ever really knows the truth to what the hell is going on?
If the a brain makes up what we see as it goes, then how are we to know that we aren't a bunch of blah that thinks it sees a computer screen and a keyboard?
Every thing that happens to us is stimulus and effect*, the ability to reason is a chemical reaction. Choice is alas a chemical reaction. That is why our world is so chaotic, one minute there is and the next there isn't. You may be thinking about that hot date, or that nice powerful computer you have and the next moment you are in ICU because some fool ran a red light(I could go on and on with scenarios). Money is just credit, justice is the opinoin of the majority (or a judge and jury). There is only one thing that really matters, nothing matters.
Its a bleak way to look at things, but I find it comforting to know that there is chaos where we think there should be order.
*Any one who trained in any thing knows how to react with out thought. When a knee is hit with a reflex hammer it kicks up or it does not, each is an effect of stimulus. The conditioning of culture, religion, training, and personal opinion shape the effects that we can have to stimulus.
By the way did you know that the Eyes take pictures and not movies? When your eyes move they take a snapshot of what they lock on to, for a moment there is a black spot in existence. That's why the effect of persistent vision looks like an aura. Imagine a page of animation being flipped through, that's how we see.
"I didn't know what was happening... I didn't see any (bombs)... BUT, I just wanna say I was running from Georgian troops bombing our city (because my family are wealthy Ossetians who are super pro-Russia, and one of them is sitting right here next to me)."
If only FOX is biased, that must mean the rest of the media outlets march in lockstep to the DNC's drums.
