How have the netherlands hit the perfect balance on spending for military, education, health, social services, communications, roads and bridges, water, energy etc.....and they have nowhere near as many people as the US does to pool resources from ?

When you consider how much money the war profiteers are making off of Iraq and Afghanistan, and when you consider that any reduction in warfare translates into a reduction of profits for them, and that most of our government and media is controlled by their money, the prospect of peace does not look very promising.
