Flag Waving - Mythbusters Bust Moon Landing Conspiracies

I'd really like to hear what the crazies say about the indisputable proof Mythbusters provided. I'm sure they'll come up with some more fantasies like maybe: Bush faked the landing to steal all the oil on the moon. An engineer for JPL was in Houston and heard a transmission come over the radio that there were secondary explosions heard. But the audio recording mysteriously disappeared. Why would the tapes disappear if it's not true?!

This myth is one of the "proofs" I've heard most in my life, that there was wind blowing on the sound stage where they faked the landing.

This video not only disproves that theory, but the truth is rather surprising.

This one seemed obvious to me from the first time I saw it. I don't really discount conspiracy theories and I'm not saying I'm smart but from the first time I saw it I could tell that there was another pole there holding the flag up and moving it around as they twisted it. Why would there be wind on a sound stage anyway?

Whay would there be wind on a sound stage anyway?

See, now there's where you're going wrong in trying to think like a conspiracy theorist, you're using common sense. I've heard some theorists say that someone accidentally closed a door on the sound stage and that's what kicked up the wind. gmafb.

Yeah, it wasn't the pole holding it up that made people suspicious, just the way the bottom corner kept flapping.

Yeah, I got that. But the pole moving back and forth is what's making it flap.

Fox made a pretty compelling conspiracy program about the moon landing, available for download here. As I recall (and I haven't seen it for some time), there were a few conspiracy claims that are not covered by the mythbusters. Specifically, some of the photographs of the moon appear to be manipulated.

^ Do you seriously have to copy and paste that same crap on every moon video here on the sift?

BTW the mythbusters have only done one show about the moon landing and are planning to do more.

I saw that fox program. It seemed to me like some complex way of presenting only the easily disprovable moon landing conspiracies so that they could say, "look at what these crazy people think."

I remember thinking it was weird. Almost like propaganda. I know that makes me sound a little nuts but when I thought about it, it really did seem like a way of making conspiracy theorists sound just a little more nuts.

I kinda see a conflict of interest going to the people who allegedly faked the moon landing to attempt to disprove the conspiracy theorists.

It's like going to O.P.E.C. to disprove Global Warming...

I think it's perfectly valid to ask a group accused of deception to defend itself. Particularly when they already have the highly unusual equipment on hand to vindicate their claim.

But really, can't we just look at the moon with strong telescopes and see the various astronaut detritus still in place? Why is this even an open question?
