Yes, the lead up to that scene was so awesome, consisting of Peter repeating surfin bird ad nauseum, a "people with aids go to hell" joke, a mangled vision of james dean post accident, and a random segway into the life of star jones. That's comedy gold right there.

Family guy has degenerated into a collection of random pop culture references, tasteless jokes, and inane filler, loosely bound together by a skeleton plot. I remember a time when it used to be one of the funniest shows on television but nowadays I can't even finish an episode because they are just garbage.

Personally - you're right, the first 3 series were absolutely amazing, best of its kind bar none. However, the rest of the series have had their merits too. Lots of funny moments to be had, and it definitely can't be called trash.

Here's a thought, if you don't have anything nice to say, STFU. 'Simpsons writers suck, Family Guy is garbage, if only they'd bring back Will&Grace, am I right!' Family Guy is the same amount of funny as always, the Simpsons still make me laff oot laud. So for everybody bitching about how great things used to be, go watch some M*A*S*H* and chill the fuck out. Just because you want every new episode to be THE BEST EPISODE EVER doesn't make those of us who still enjoy what has really always boiled down to immature gags, trash connoisseurs. We just don't wanna think too hard after a long day of sifting.

I still find family guy moderately funny, but I don't think the problem is that the writing is getting worse, I think it's that they need to innovate. Its the same schtick, and most people are over it now.

On a side note, has anyone noticed that each episode seems to have multiple jokes about Jews? They always used to have some, but there were like 4 or 5 in this one. I can never decide if they're satirizing stereotypes or just perpetuating them either.
