It starts off hot and just gets cooler as you go.

I found the ending somewhat dark in a way. It was kind of heart wrenching for me for some reason. This being coming into existence and knowing his life would end, makes the best of all the can in the time he has, then is enveloped by the cold darkness of the sea.
