Empire: Total War comes out this winter, in 2009. It looks fantastic. The game is bringing naval combat in where you control ships. But this trailer is all about the new twists in battle.

Full-fledged musket-bearing armies marching in stacks of doom. Watch carefully and you'll see the unmistakable march of Napoleonic columns. And towards a glimpse of elephants too.

Simply awesome.

The graphics have been called art by noted historians for previous titles' depictions of combat (the Medieval 2: Total War game, for example)
