Thirty years ago on his first appearance on SNL (1977) NBC wouldn't let Elvis Costello play the song of his choice "Radio, Radio" because the song was critical of the radio and recording industry. During the LIVE on air performance he played it anyways...he was not allowed to return to the show for 12 years.
