Twenty Two years after Elvis Costello's historic debut on SNL, the Beastie Boys help reprise that famous bit of television history for the 25th anniversary of SNL (1999)

Thirty years ago on his first appearance on SNL (1977) NBC wouldn't let Elvis Costello play the song of his choice "Radio, Radio" because the song was critical of the radio and recording industry. During the LIVE on air performance he played it anyways...he was not allowed to return to the show for 12 years.

Oh man, I love Elvis Costello and I love me some Beasties. I gave up on SNL a few years ago, but I'm really glad Videosift brings me the gems that would have been the only reason for staying without my having had to stay and watch all the other stuff while half asleep.
