Eddie Izzard on Guns and The NRA

"Guns don't kill people - people do"

He's a transvestite and there are a lot of his videos on the sift. So why everone deemed it necessary to start reacting to his appearance right now is a bit puzzling.

Ahh, you were expecting the homophobic minority to be rational? I see why you are puzzled.
The poor things are acting from fear, "Eek, a man in lipstick, can't decide whether to kiss him or fight him, run away!"

And also "Nooo, he's questioning our right to have lots of shiny guns, quick distract people with angry comments about his clothes, so no-one will notice."

Bringing this back on topic to the original video again, Eddie's further thoughts on guns can be found here:
Guns don't kill people, people kill people, and monkeys do too (if they've got a gun.)

Hardly a minority fyi, most people gay bash online and in real life.

"we" bring it up because its distracting and unnecessary to have in a so-called comedy routine. If he was doing a skit or something then why not. But to dress up like a gay Freddy the Freeloader on stage what did you expect?

I could care less what he is talking about when you have idiots like that on stage. Its like watching carrot top trying to be funny.

Cos he's attacking the constitution, man! You shall not infringe on their rights as americans to endanger themselves, their children, their neighbors, and innocent people.

Firstly, dickhead, if you "could care less", then you care about something. "I give a lot, but i could give less" - "I care a lot, but i could care less." You can thank me later.

Now, it's distracting and unnecessary for him to wear what he feels comfortable with on stage? Unnecessary for whom? Because he finds it pretty fucking necessary you ignorant arse.

Would you like to also censor what he says in case you don't like that either? How about if he's gay, would you like to pick on that as well because you find it 'distracting and unnecessary'?

Last time i checked we were free to do as we wish, and your comments are a backwards step for freedom of expression.

Don't forget that YOU are free to not watch him, that's your choice. But to insult him because he's a transvestite is as bad or worse than the recent spate of racism we've had from westy. Really. Why has no one picked up on this already?

Dranzerksays...

Never did i say anything about him being a transvestite did I now..I commented on how he dressed. I simply was stating its hard to make a "comedy" routine in that outfit.

Also, you should get out of the house, because last time I checked we are not free to do what we wish. So you are saying its ok to have freedom of expression, yet criticize my comment towards his appearance.

People who throw the word "freedom" around like it covers everything in the world are pretty pathetic.

dannym3141says...

1) I appreciate your backtracking, it's redeemed you slightly.

2) Freedom of expression doesn't cover your right to assault others' freedom. However, i didn't even do that to you. The worst thing that i said in regards to your comment was that it was a backwards step for freedom of expression.

3) I threw the word freedom around like it covered......him wanting to be a transvestite. I don't remember throwing it anywhere else, perhaps you'd like to point it out to me.

You know of that study where they gave subjects a questionnaire to gauge how homophobic they were and then they had them watch homosexual porn with electrodes attached to them. The ones who were the most homophobic were the MOST turned on when seeing gay images.

Fear based on someones appearance, can't we get past this already?

Dangit... I was hoping to come here and read a whole bunch of gun nuts screaming blue murder about their favourite passtime... but instead we have juvenile dicks somehow having an issue with a man in a dress and makeup. Bloody hell, he's wearing clothes and makeup man...

I would find it amusing if you like Marilyn Manson or other heavy rockers who enjoy makeup, but draw the line here because it looks too womanly.

How does it make it hard to do a comedy routine dressed like this anyway? Are you that bedazzled by the outfit that you can't LISTEN TO HIS WORDS?

Man... you have issues.

I keep reading this over and over, and each time I feel like I'm being slapped in the face by a wet fish. Is there something about transvestites I'm ignorant of, apart from their desire to dress cross-gendered?
